By the time they reach Under 13s, players are really stepping up their game — both individually and as part of a team. With some having several seasons of contact rugby behind them, they’re tackling with confidence, making smarter choices on the pitch, and working together more naturally than ever before. Those who are just starting out are doing so with the support of their team mates and coaches, supporting their knowledge and development.

This is the stage where understanding the flow of the game becomes key — knowing when to pass, when to run, and how best to support teammates in the moment. It’s brilliant to watch them read the game with real awareness and start playing with intention.

But while skills and tactics are improving, what never changes is our commitment to making sure every player feels welcome, supported, and enjoys themselves. Whether they’ve been with BBOB since day one or are new to the club, there’s always room to learn, grow, and have fun playing rugby together.
