SUNDAY 8TH MARCH - After a busy week juggling fixtures and messages, the team made the short trip across to Old Northamptonians RFC on Sunday morning.

Spirits were high from the moment everyone arrived, with plenty of attention on the touchline being drawn to a very sharp looking new pair of bright pink boots making their debut. Style points were secured before a ball had even been kicked.

From the very first whistle, our U10s team set the tone. Facing a large ONs squad, the boys and girls were unphased and played with real confidence and energy, running in try after try throughout the morning.

What impressed the coaches most wasn’t just the number of tries, but how they came.

The passing and support play was outstanding, with players constantly looking for the offload and backing each other up. At times the rugby on display was superb, and we even managed to pull off a few strike moves from set pieces – much to the amazement of the coaches and parents watching from the sideline.

More than anything, today showed exactly what this group is all about: teamwork. Players working hard for each other, supporting one another and clearly enjoying their rugby. As coaches, we couldn’t be prouder of the effort and attitude shown by everyone.

A special mention this week goes to Beau, our Player of the Week. What a performance. Beau ran hard all morning, constantly looked for support and delivered the pass at exactly the right time. On top of that, we genuinely lost count of the number of tackles she made. A brilliant all-round display and thoroughly deserved recognition.

A big thank you also goes to our team manager Sam, who worked hard behind the scenes all week to get this fixture organised. Days like today don’t happen without that effort, and I think we can all agree it turned into a fantastic morning for the club.

And as for our coaches, they rounded things off with a well-earned victory beer in the clubhouse, both smiling from ear to ear with pride at the effort the team put in.
