By Under 12s, the players are really growing into their rugby — both as individuals and as part of a team. Some have several seasons of contact rugby experience behind them, they’re tackling with confidence, making smarter decisions, and working together more instinctively than ever. Those without have the support of their team mates and coaches behind them to help them learn and develop.
This age is all about understanding the flow of the game — knowing when to pass, when to take a run, and how to support teammates in the moment. It’s fantastic to see them start to read the game and play with real awareness.
But no matter how much the skills develop, we never lose sight of what’s most important: making sure every player feels welcome, supported, and has fun. Whether they’ve been with BBOB from the start or are just joining in, there’s a place for everyone to grow, learn, and enjoy rugby together.
